Heartspace - Retreat Day
These are opportunities to come together to share silence, open the ‘ears’ of our hearts and rest in being. Sometimes a deepening sense of presence and connectedness can arise within our experience as we sit, immersing ourselves in the living, wild beauty of Dartmoor.
Each day will have a simple rhythm of silent sitting; Kum Nye (Tibetan yoga); walking meditation, outside if possible; and practices of the heart.
Everyone is welcome!

Surrender in Love
An Elemental Easter retreat
With Anne Overzee
April 17 -20 2025
This is an invitation to celebrate Easter this year through embodied ritual, readings, meditation and sharing!
This, the most important feast in the Christian liturgical year can be a potent threshold marking our own transformational journeys, as we deepen into the mystery of these days marking Jesus’ passion and resurrection.
We shall be co-creating elemental contemplative practices, walking in nature, and contributing to community tasks as part of our daily rhythm of readings and prayer within a holding field of heart and silence.
Everyone is welcome, whatever your spiritual orientation!
Dancing with the Beloved
This is a silent retreat with a daily contemplative structure which includes silent sitting and walking meditation, sharing and ritual.
The retreat is held in an ancient Christian Abbey which has exceptionally beautiful natural surroundings to support our practice.
Our days together provide an opportunity for personal experiential enquiry in relation to the theme, within the context of a co-created supportive holding field; and it is an opportunity to take time out of our daily commitments to simply ‘rest and be’.

Heartspace for Grief Tending
A precious opportunity to tend to our grief together, whilst held in the gentle field of a co-created heartspace and the wild beauty of Dartmoor. We will weave together ceremony, sharing, silence and song , and in this way we will journey to those deeper places in the heart that need tending.
Everyone is welcome!

Śarana: a Compassionate Community of Contemplatives
An Interspiritual Path for Contemplatives of the Heart; an emergent Compassionate Community
These quarterly gatherings are for everyone! Come and make heartfelt connections, practise together with others of different spiritual traditions, listen to what is alive for us as a group, and seed an emerging compassionate contemplative community…!
Advent: an initiatory journey
Interspiritual Liturgies of the Heart
‘…and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.’ ( T.S.Elliot, Four Quartets)
Four online evenings leading up to Christmas
November 28; December 5,12 and 19
6.30 – 7.45 U.K.; 7.30 – 8.45 CET
Advent is a liminal time. We can pass through many different experiences, including longing, weariness and anticipatory joy. We cannot know what may emerge in us as we connect on different levels with the ancient story of Jesus’ birth during this particular advent; but we can surrender to the mystery, and wait and see.
It is possible that the early Church used this period as a preparation for Baptism, like Easter. So the initiatory aspect of advent (from adventus, the coming) is a traditional one.
In these four evenings we will have the opportunity to explore what advent means or could mean to us, through an unfolding sequence of meditations, readings and listening circles as we deepen into our personal and shared journeying.
Heartspace in-person

Meeting Women Practitioner Artists - Sister Theovouli (Petra Clare)
The Body Divine in Christian Orthodox Iconography
Date: November 2 2024
Time: 10.00-11.30 U.K. time / 11.00-12.30 European time
In Orthodox icon painting there is a whole two thousand year tradition of exploring how to - not so much depict, because this is not possible - but to point, through painting, to the Body Divine: the divinised body. The ultimate icon of the divinised human body is, of course the Transfiguration. I hope to share with you some of the techniques through which the paradox of God and man is portrayed in the technique of the icon. So, I am going to ask you to follow through with me, how an icon painter would do this - both in prayer and technique.
